DISARTICULATIONS: DESTRUCTURALIST ART
Through a destructuralist visual language, Mary Blindflowers explores the tensions between war, propaganda, and identity, challenging dominant narratives and questioning the presumed stability of the images, symbols, and meanings that shape our perception of reality.
At the heart of Disarticulation: Destructuralist Art lies an artistic investigation into the structures that govern visual representation and collective understanding. By altering established codes and dismantling familiar associations, Blindflowers exposes the mechanisms through which images convey ideologies, shape memory, and influence the construction of identity.
Her work invites viewers to look beyond the surface, question what appears unquestionable, and reconsider the relationship between image, power, and truth. In a world marked by conflict and competing narratives, Destructuralism becomes both an artistic strategy and a critical act: a way of destabilising established meanings and opening new spaces for interpretation.
