Original antique print from the Harper’s Weekly issue dated December 19, 1896, published in New York. The artwork, drawn by W. Hatherell, depicts a traditional Christmas custom at Queen’s College, Oxford, titled Bringing in the Boar’s Head. The lively scene shows a Renaissance-style procession with musicians, students in period costumes, and a man proudly carrying a decorated platter with a boar’s head — a symbol of celebration and abundance. Black-and-white print, rich in detail and highly representative of late 19th-century illustration style. A fine piece for collectors, history enthusiasts, or as an elegant period decoration.
