The hibachi ( (Japanese: 火鉢, “fire bowl”), is a traditional Japanese heating device. It consists of a container with an open lid made of or covered in copper and designed to contain burning charcoal. An iron grid was often placed above the area of ​​the coal container for heating or cooking various foods, or simply to heat tea during the tea ceremony. However, they were more often used to heat small Japanese homes.
