Cristo era femmina

Note del traduttore

.

Translator’s Notes

.

“And her goal will be got, provided even only one reader lets circulate a green edge of doubt into his head”.
So the authoress in “Christ was a Female” ’s prolusion. I confess that more than a hesitation’s pane (not at all chlorine-coloured) was born in me, at first, reading this very original and unusual poetry work. How could I have transferred into a different language the same phonemes, even before translating in a comprehensible way the semantic creations budding from her pen which to define etymologically eccentric would be a litotes? How could I have translated into English “sdilerba” which is inexistent even in Italian?
The cut the authoress speaks about in her introduction just resides in primis in the lexicon she uses, which actually is surgically demolitive of the encoded and fogie phraseology. And then crossing a “psychedelic” “barbigiglito” and asking myself what it means in mother-tongue, before trying to export it into Anglo-Saxon language.
But, as soon as you stopped thinking and squeezing your brain about that, here she came again and wore you down with her cuckoo’s nest compounds such as “veteroconfusi”, “adrusipotenusa” and …it is better stopping here.
Then, I thought about the day when at Civitavecchia’s War School , in the final exam of a colleague of mine, a literally unsolvable tactical elaboration, given terrain’s nature and the available equipment, was balloted; that comrade-in-arms of mine shouted powerfully before the Examining Board: “It is an absurd thesis, but I will try to make it feasible!!!”
And I made mine his lucid madness, making mine authoress’ sharp insanity.
Have I managed? That will be judged by overseas readers wishing they can enjoy the reading, as I am sure they will have a great time.
